Secular Education

Jamia provides a range of subjects at secondary level. All students at secondary level will undertake learning in English Language, Mathematics, Dual Award Science, Information and Communication Technology, Urdu, History and Religious Studies upto GCSE Level. An Art Club and recreational facilities allow pupils to play and learn at weekends.

At Sixth Form level, a partnership with Preston College allows pupils to study A Level courses in various academic subjects as well as other programmes of study in Information Technology. Students over the age of 16 who have literacy or numeracy needs can also take advantage of pre-GCSE courses provided at Jamia by Preston College. All students over the age of 16 will be expected to enrol for appropriate courses with Preston College to study in the afternoons.

Careers and Higher Education advice is provided by expert consultants brought in by Jamia.

Jamia has two computer suites that provide students with access to software and the world wide web for educational and research purposes.

The school continues to look at ways to enhance the curriculum for students, and is committed to ensure that it is broad and balanced in terms of Islamic and secular subjects.
