About Jamiah

Established in 1997, providing comprehensive Islamic education alongside secular studies in Blackburn, Lancashire.

Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda, the College of Islamic Knowledge and Guidance, was established in August 1997 for boys aged 11 years and over.

Since 1997, over 3000 students have studied at Jamiah with a current roll of around 400 boys.

Jamiah recognises that each young Muslim needs to strive to acquire knowledge of all aspects of Mankind; from historical to contemporary, from academic to vocational, from the pragmatic to the dogmatic and from the Islamic to the secular. We want all young Muslims who study at Jamiah to have the self-esteem and confidence to play a positive and inclusive role in their communities, to be good Muslims and exemplary citizens.

I thank you for visiting our website and hope that you will remember Jamiah in your Duaas.

The Muslim community of the United Kingdom should be provided with a comprehensive, positive and inclusive understanding of Islam as well as contemporary education in a secure Islamic environment.

Each young Muslim needs to acquire knowledge of all aspects of Mankind; from historical to contemporary; from academic to vocational, from the pragmatic to the dogmatic and from the Islamic to the secular.

Young Muslims who have the self-esteem and confidence to play a positive and inclusive role in their communities, to be good Muslims and exemplary citizens.

By the grace of Almighty Allah, Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda opened its doors to students in September 1997; fulfilling a pressing need and quenching the thirst of the people of Lancashire allowing them to have their children educated with sound Islamic knowledge accompanied with excellent secular education.

First and foremost, Jamiah opened through the Grace of the Almighty together with the pious Duaas of the Muslims. Secondly, Jamiah is hugely indebted to the painstaking efforts of many volunteers who helped in the construction and fundraising with their heart and soul.

Since its inception, Jamiah by the Grace of the Almighty has gone from strength to strength. Within the span of almost three decades, many Huffadh, Ulama and Qurra have graduated from Jamiah.
